“Feedback & disaster” ist eine audiovisuelle Compilation
die halbjährlich online erscheint. Jeder Ausgabe wird ein Thema vorangestellt,
vorherige Ausgaben sind jederzeit abruf- und erweiterbar. Anders als bei
herkömmlichen Formaten können unterschiedlichste Beiträge
ihrem Medium entsprechend publiziert werden und stehen UserInnen jederzeit
zum freien Download zur Verfügung.
Die beiden HerausgeberInnen Doris Prlic und Andreas Kurz wollen mit „Feedback
& disaster“ an der Schnittstelle zwischen Kunst, Popkultur und
theoretischer Arbeit fungieren. Ihr Hauptanliegen ist die Anbindung der
Linzer Szene an andere lokale Communities sowie die Vernetzung verschiedener
subkultureller Bereiche.
Zum Thema der ersten Ausgabe „25 ways to save the world“ wurden
ausgewählte KünstlerInnen aufgefordert, unterschiedlichste Arbeiten
einzureichen. Präsentiert wird einerseits das Konzept anhand der
online-Compilation, andererseits einige der künstlerischen Arbeiten
in Form von Videoprojektionen und Ausdrucken, sowie ein live-Set der Musikerin
Cherry Sunkist und eine Performance von KROKE feat. Awful and Plastikk
Dieses Projekt wurde im Rahmen des KUPF Innovationstopf 2003 gefördert.

“Feedback & disaster” constitutes an audio-visual compilation
that is published online. For the first edition there will be a presentation
of works by artists who run their own label, publish their own magazine
or fan-/infozine, work with cultural organizations, free radio, graphic
design, animation, film, music, radio plays and comics.
Each edition of the compilation which is published twice a year has a
theme, past editions can be read and extended permanently. Other than
conventional formats the online-compilation allows works to be published
according to their medium and users are able to download files for free
at any time.
The two editors Doris Prlic and Andreas Kurz created “Feedback &
disaster” in order to work at the intersection of art, popart and
theory. They aim to link the art scene of Linz with other local communities
and create a network for various subcultural fields. Content-wise they
put an emphasis on questions regarding political and artistic strategies:
How and to what extent is it possible to represent contents? What channels
can be used to communicate statements? How do political comments work
in the field of popart and art?
For the topic of the first issue “25 ways to save the world”
chosen artists were invited to enter works in a variety of media such
as – Sound/Video/ Text/Grafik/Animation/Illustration/Musik. There
will be a presentation of the online-compilation and the diverse art works
such as video installations, prints and a live-set of the musician Cherry
Sunkist.
