Duo van der Mixt entstand 2002 als ein Künstlerduo (Mihai Pop & Cristian Rusu). Sein Forschungsbereich ist hauptsächlich der Zusammenhang zwischen Kunst und soziales Umfeld.
Das Projekt The Very Best of Red, Yellow and Blue ist eine noch nicht vollendete Studie zur Überhandnahme eines extremen Nationalismus im öffentlichen und privaten Raum in Rumänien nach 1989. Das Ergebnis einer in den letzten zwei Jahren unternommenen Untersuchung besteht aus einem Archiv trikolorer Bilder, zum größten Teil mit Beispielen des Eingriffes der Lokalverwaltung in den öffentlichen Raum in Cluj (RO), aber auch aus Beispielen der Ausweitung dieses Phänomens in andere Städte, sowohl im öffentlichen als auch im privaten Raum.
Die Ausstellung The Very Best of Red, Yellow and Blue führt durch die letzten 12 Jahre der Geschichte der Stadt Cluj und versteht sich als ein Diskurs über die trikolore Hysterie in der Sprache der Zukunft; er nimmt den selbstverständlichen Abgang in den „Mülleimer der Geschichte“ vorweg.

Christian Teodor Rusu: geboren 1972 in Cluj/Klausenburg, Rumänien. Studium an der Universität für Kunst und Design Cluj, Abteilung Malerei; Studium der Kunstgeschichte – Zeitgenössische Kunst an der Universitat Prag; Kunstkritiker, seit 2003 Bühnenbildner am Nationaltheater Cluj

Mihai Pop and Cristian Rusu are “Duo van der Mixt“. Founded in 2002 the artist duo works in the field of socio-cultural research.
Their presentation is related to an ongoing exhibition and study about the takeover of nationalist ideology in the public and private space in Romania after 1989. They created an archive of tricolor images, mainly with examples of the assault of the local department of administration into the public space in Cluj (RO), but also with examples of the expansion of this phenomenon into other cities.
The exhibition “The Very Best of Red, Yellow and Blue“ illustrates 12 years of symbolic tricolor hysteria in Cluj. Duo van der Mixt produced a catalog to this exhibition, showing the best of red–yellow-blue pictures of their archive

Alina Serban (*1978)
Curator and art critic. She is editor of Aarhitext - Journal of Architecture and Arts, Bucharest. She writes art and culture related criticism in several cultural journals. Her recent curatorial projects include Longtime, Trafo, Budapest (2005), Against Space, Dynamo Gallery, Budapest (2004) and Docu-Fiction, Bucharest (2003). Currently she works on her ma thesis on the visual art production during the early communist era in romania. Slina Serban works and lives in Bucharest.
